[TOKYO FOOD MARATHON] "KAISEN HITSUMABUSHI" by UOGASHI SENRYO〈魚河岸千両の海鮮ひつまぶし〉

Finally! I made myself to the Tsukiji Fish Market and without reconsidering, I went straight to Uogashi Senryo to have the amazing "Kaisen Hitsumabushi".

Ahh this look...<3 Kiasen Hitsumabushi consists of vinegar-ed rice and all kinds of chopped seafood. (Tuna, squid, shrimp, octopus, salmon, salmon roe, sea urchin and etc.) Some famous Japanese comedian called this meal as "Jewelry Box of the Sea" and it become known as that. (Which is also so TRUE!) Not only the contents of this meal is so special, it is the unique procedure of how you eat this meal which makes it so special.

1. First you add favorable amount of wasabi into soy sauce.

2. Set the sea urchin aside, and pour the soy sauce. Eat 1/3 of the bowl as pure seafood donburi. (Enjoy the freshness and umami of seafood!)

3. Place the sea urchin in empty area and grind so it become pastry.

4. Mix it with rest of the bowl. Eat half of what you got. (Enjoy the rich creamy taste of the sea urchin rice!)

5. For the last bowl of rice, the server will bring you the dashi soup to pour in and eat like Ochazuke! (enjoy the umami of sea urchin dissolved into the dashi soup!)

So it is only one meal, but you can enjoy it in several ways! So much fun and super tasty!!!

やっとやっと築地に来れて、やはり迷わず海鮮ひつまぶしでした!海の宝石箱とだけあって、たっくさんの海鮮とどでかいウニ!!!もうでかくてちょっとグロいくらいでしたけど(笑)おすすめの段階踏んだ食べ方で海のコク満点で「うまぁ。。。」でした。鼻からぬける磯の香りが本当に新鮮で新鮮で。。。♡最後のダシ汁の〆もそうだけど、おひつまで舐めたい衝動を抑え、カッカッとごちそうさましました!
