SEA URCHIN DONBURI "UNITORA-KURAU" 〈うに食べ比べ丼 "うに虎喰"〉

Tsukiji Fish Market is a must-go place when you visit Japan. Especially if you're fond of seafood and I mean the FRESH ones. There are lot of seafood restaurant around this area and also there are couple of stores outside where you can buy and eat while standing.
My recent delight was this!

Bam! The beautiful "Sea Urchin Comparing Bowl" from UNITORA-KURAU.
They also serve different kind of Sea Urchin dishes because this place is sea urchin exclusive restaurant!

Ahh I can still recall the freshness of this sea urchin donburi where you can try different brand of sea urchin in one bowl.
On the well cooked vinegar rice, there are several types of rich creamy sea urchin with wasabi, ginger, nori, and egg yolk. You can break the egg yolk in the beginning, but I prefer eating the sea urchin with rice as it is to enjoy the original taste, then break the yolk to give much creaminess to it. They also serve miso soup with this and the soup of the fish is well absorbed in this bowl, it is truly like drinking the ocean itself. (No kidding!)
I'm not sure people would agree with me from now on, but this is my original way of eating these dishes.
1. Leave half of the bowl of rice and sea urchin. Also the spice (wasabi or salted kelp)
2. Mix up the rice and sea urchin until the rice itself turns yellow.
3. Add hot tea and finish up with the spices.

In this way, I think you can enjoy one meal in 3 different ways. Felt so special! hehe
築地が大好きなので、平日でも時間があればよくお昼ごはんを食べに行きました。いろんなおいしいものはたっくさんあるけど、やっぱりうにが好きなので、今回はうに虎喰のうに食べ比べ丼いただきました。
国産や海外の色んな種類のうにがのったどんぶりは本当に美しくて、バシャバシャずっと写真とっちゃいました。(今見ててもうっとりする・・・。)
一緒にでてきたお味噌汁も魚のだしがよ^くきいてて、飲んだ瞬間、「あー」ってなります。笑 さすが築地。
個人的には半分残しのうにまぜご飯のお茶漬けが好きなので、こうゆう時は必ずやっちゃいます。一品で3種類の食べ方ができてお得気分。
