WAKAO'S "CURRY TOAST" in ASAKUSA〈怒り新党で紹介された「若生」のカレートースト〉

Recently I was watching my favorite Japanese TV show and it was introducing the best Bread Toast you can find in Japan. But not only it was showing the best in taste, the element of "Nostalgic Atmosphere" was also considered to announce the "Top 3 best bread toast you can have in a nostalgic atmosphere". (Such a perfect element!) And by meaning of "nostalgic", the cafe was chosen from a section of "Jun-Kissa", (meaning, a well-aged cafe which have been serving purely cafe menu unlike other cafes which were serving alcohol with female attendant back in early 1900s.) The popularity of these "Jun-Kissa" is still strong now younger generations are attracted to that distinctive old-fashioned atmosphere. So, after seeing the show, I had to visit one of them to experience "Jun-Kissa" with their best serving bread toast:)

As you can see I wasn't disappointed at all. Wakao located in Asakusa area served the best Curry Bread Toast. The bread is lightly baked with lots of butter, still leaving the inside fluffy and there goes the spiced beaf curry with lots of raw cream making the curry much tender.

From the outside it do not look like a cafe at all. And when you go inside, it is sooo old-fashioned Japanese style. Grandpa sitting and watching sumo and reading newspaper... You know, it's not fancy. But you can really experience the deep-Japanese culture style here.

怒り新党で三第純喫茶のトーストのコーナーで見てすぐに浅草に行きました。「若生」はあの浅草演芸場のすぐ横。もちろん寄席好きな私は古典落語見て一笑いの後行きました♡外からは全く純喫茶というよりは割烹料理屋感満載だけど、中入ると古い昔の古き良き和風純喫茶。名物のカレートーストは周りをほんのりバターでかりっと焼いてあって甘口？だったかなカレーと生クリームがとりーりかかってて本当に美味しい♡ビーフカレーだったけど、お肉も柔らかいし最高でした♪浅草ってのもなんか嬉しいところだし、たぶん寄席のついでだったら毎回いけそうです。
