It just came up on my mind, that as a Japanese citizen I wanted to go see the House of Parliament before heading to US. And here I was.

This old building was planned and started it's building process back in 1890s. (Around Meiji period) All the material used are all Japanese made except for couple of posts. Above was the sight you can always see on TV while parliamentary proceedings. (Sometimes you will see some people sleeping which is super annoying. lol)

The inside tour is free and conducted on weekdays. Of course the security is tight, but that's usual. (Info here!)

Architecture and interior inside are so historical you can feel the past politicians presence from the worn out fabric of carpet, chairs, doors and all. Especially the public gallery seats are so small, maybe the past Japanese were much smaller then now. (Maybe?) But it felt good to have come here:D
