EXPLORING WITH NEW MATERIALS〈新しい材料を試す🎨〉

ちょっと低迷中でも新しい材料を試す時はいつもわくわくするから好きです❗新しい発見があったり今までの材料の固定概念を崩してくれるレベルの高いブランドがアメリカにはあるのでめっちゃ嬉しい。

(Even though in a unproductive period of time, I always feel excited and happy. Sometimes it shows you a different aspect of the material and sometimes it happily breaks your image of that material too. Lot of high level brand in US, which is super cool.)

まずはこちら❗ガラスから。この飴みたいなガラスはパロアルトのアーティストの所のKilnといわれる釜？でガラスを溶かして端を丸くしたもの❗一回ワークショップで使ってすごく良かったから残り頂戴っていったらくれたのでこれは楽しみです❗IKEAのガラスと違ってヒビのはいっていない透明な範囲が広いので下地の色や質感を目立たせたい場所に使える✨

(First is this round edge glass! This is made at artist's studio in Palo Alto which is baked about 10 hours in a kiln. I used once at the workshop and asked if I can have the rest and got it! Unlike the tempered glass at IKEA, this has much larger clear area which I can use to show more color or texture underneath.)

お次はペインティング用のパレットナイフ❗油絵でしか使わないのかと勝手に思っていたけどアクリルペインティングでも使うらしく、すごくいいタッチができる❗今さらだけどめちゃいいし、MichaelsブランドのArtist's Loftでだいたい3ドルくらい。

(Next is painting palette knife. Super cheap from Artist's loft at Michales. Loving the patterns that can create on canvas.)

そしてそして今回一番感動したのがコレ❗私の尊敬するアーティストもみんあ使ってて気になってたGoldenブランドのFluidsシリーズ。普通のアクリルと違ってとろっとしているのに色素がもってり濃い魔法の絵具なのです❗

(And this was the most surprising of all! Fluids series from Golden brand. Compared to the normal acrylic paints, it's much smooth and liquid-ish. But once you paint with it it flows on the paper and canvas.)

レベル的にはアマ→アーティスト→プロのプロレベルの人が使うものだけど1個6ドルくらいだったので、普段はアマレベルの安いアクリル使ってたけどどんなもんじゃいで試しに購入してみました、したら、すごい❗一滴垂らしてすーっと伸びる❗しかも色素全然薄れない❗これはやってみないとわからない、絵具の概念を勝手に覆されたすごい商品でした。もちろん全国のMichalesにあります。どこの在庫少ないけど…。

(So this product is definitely in the Pro level which I usually don't buy was all my favorite artist was using it so gave it a try and I'm in love! Expensive things are expensive for a reason. But it was totally worth it.)

そしてこれもまたまたプロレベルのLuquitexブランドのHeavy Bodyシリーズ。普通のアクリルよりはもってりしてる色素の濃いもの。ここまでのレベルになると水とは混ぜないで専用のMedium（媒体？）で薄めます。でも色が本当に綺麗。最近アメリカのアクリルブランド勉強しまくっててかなり詳しくなってきました。笑　Michalesで買い物してた時にビギナーの人に感謝されるくらいのアドバイスはできるようになりました。笑

(And another Pro level Heavy Body acrylic by Liquitex. Little thicker then normal acrylic paints with rich pigment. BTW, I have been studying US acrylic brand and learning a lot of things. Met a beginner painter in Michaels who seemed to need help and she thanked me a lot for providing lot of info about acrylic. I'm getting better with it. lol)
